KOEI

It's no secret that I'm a longtime fan of Koei's Musou series. Hell, Warriors Orochi 3: Ultimate is one of my all-time favorite games.

Today I picked up Hyrule Warriors.

After the fourth stage or so, I noticed something odd. Something I really couldn't quite put my finger on. Like I'd seen this story before... Cia opens some portals across time and space, creating a patchwork world in which people and places converge. This game's plot is Warriors Orochi with a Zelda paint job. Don't get me wrong, that's far from being a bad thing. It just struck me as humorous, that's all. I'm currently at the point in the story where the timelines split.

Anyway, I'm enjoying it so far, even if muscle memory keeps screwing me over (I keep wanting to press R1 to center the camera). I think my favorite thing about it is the slightly more strategic gameplay than the usual Warriors fare.

More commentary to come as I progress.

So, two things are on my mind today. One is kind of a heavy topic, and the other is decidedly not. So if you don't give a flip about my personal/emotional problems, feel free to click the second cut for happy fun Koei shenanigans.

On the subject of life... )

On a lighter note, Koei shenanigans! )
